‘Oxford’ Series 1 Land Rover
Inspirational Beings
come in all shapes and sizes…
During our preparation of Daisy to become our overlanding home , we have like many people read the iconic book ‘First Overland ‘ by Tim Slessor who tells the tale of himself and a team of intrepid students from Cambridge and Oxford who were the first people to drive overland from London to Singapore in the 1950’s, when the world was a very different place.
This adventure was followed up many years later in 2019 by Alex Bescoby who wrote ‘The Last Overland’ describing his adventures driving the same iconic Land Rover ‘Oxford’ when he drove the return leg overland from Singapore to London with Tim Slessor’s grandson.
We highly recommend you reading both of these books if you haven’t already done so.
Ram Dass
We began our journey with Ram Dass in the year of his passing, after discovered him when reading the introduction to the book the Psychedelic Experience which is based on the Tibetan book of the Dead. It explains that Ram Dass was one of the most important spiritual teachers of the 20th century and a great Yogi. As a yoga practitioners we were intrigued to find out more about him and we both became inspired by his loving awareness practices, his amazing talks and books which date right back to when he came back from India in the 1960’s/1970’s.
